Boutique Family Law firm is in need of a dependable and conscientious Family Law Paralegal to join its team who goes above and beyond legal strategy and litigation to demonstrate extraordinary compassion and care for every client. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of all paralegal duties required in a family law practice. Professional appearance and reliability along with great skills to follow up and follow through with clients and projects. Must also have great attention to detail, and be willing to work closely with your colleagues. The ability to calendar and observe deadlines is mandatory. Teamwork is important in this position. You will be working on many cases concurrently, over long periods of time. We expect you to keep track of key dates, keep the right people informed, and prioritize your time so that we never miss a deadline. You also must be able to capture billable time while getting the work done in a timely fashion. You must possess strong communication and critical thinking skills as well as excellent writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
This position will be responsible for important work including preparing documents, coordinating/interacting with clients, other attorneys and judges. This includes drafting petitions and counterpetitions; drafting motions and third-party subpoenas; prepare and respond to discovery requests, discovery responses, mandatory disclosures, financial affidavits, equitable distribution schedules, and Child Support Guidelines; assisting with Mediation and Trial preparation, as well as other court appearances. The position requires close communication with clients, organization and maintenance of electronic client files, and drafting correspondence to the Court and other attorneys.
