Busy Downtown Tampa law firm is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Paralegal. Firm focuses on construction defect, personal injury, product liability, trucking and wrongful death cases. Position will be working full-time in a 1:1 or 2:1 attorney/paralegal team. Candidate must be familiar with full cycle litigation as you will be working with attorneys from inception through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys by assembling and organizing information for legal documents
- Researching law
- Assembling case materials
- Writing reports, medical summaries and memoranda
Job Duties:
- Prepare legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including complaints, declarations, discovery requests, responses, and other pleadings.
- Research laws, statutes, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning to assist in drafting motions and memoranda.
- Assemble case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
- Prepare discovery requests and responses through personal interaction with clients to formulate responses.
- Prepare for trial by preparing exhibits, subpoenas, evidence, and motions.
- Maintain calendar by entering and updating requirements, court dates, and scheduling meetings.
- Protect law firm’s reputation by keeping client information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities; reading legal publications; maintaining personal networks.
